The Class Action Legal Assessment
The Joint Commitee's Plan for Reorganization of the Mt. Konocti Mutual Water Company was effective November 1, 1993. The U.S. Bankruptcy Court has been petitioned to end the Bankruptcy proceedings.
As called for in the Plan, assessments are being made on owners of improved property:
This assessment is being made on all owners of improved property connected to the water system prior to April 18, 1983 and a varying amount up to $10.01 for parcels connected between April 18, 1983 and September 28, 1989 depending on the month and year of connection. The assessment proceeds are to pay legal fees of the Class Attorney, Chandler Visher. It's anticipated that this assessment will continue for approximately 40 years.
